The New SECURE Supplemental Needs Trust

Recorded: July 30, 2020
Duration: 32 Minutes
Presenters: Brian F. Albee, J.D.

The SECURE Act changed who is entitled to stretch required minimum distributions of an inherited retirement account over their life expectancy. Beneficiaries who are disabled or chronically ill are among the groups who are entitled to this benefit.  Because of this consideration, a new trust is now offered in ElderDocx®, the SECURE Supplemental Needs Trust.

Watch Brian Albee, ElderCounsel’s Director of Law and Technology, for 30-minutes as he explains what this new trust is, how it functions, and when one might use it.
