It has been nearly a year since ElderCounsel and our sister company WealthCounsel were acquired by the LEAP1 group. Both companies have continued to operate as stand-alone businesses, serving the needs of our respective members with premium drafting software and education in estate planning, business law, elder law, and special needs planning.

Over the years, many of our members have suggested that a merger of ElderCounsel and WealthCounsel would be beneficial to the members of both organizations. A decision has now been made to bring our great companies together to form one organization which will operate under the WealthCounsel name. The merger will take several months to complete and we will begin the process on January 1, 2023, at which time Henna Shah, WealthCounsel CEO, will take over as CEO of the combined businesses.

As a result of this merger, you will be able to access the learning resources, networking, and software products you subscribe to from both businesses, through a single platform (the WealthCounsel platform). This will enable us to provide a consistent experience to all of our members.

Bringing together our talented teams from both companies will enable us to increase innovation, improve our software and educational offerings, and increase opportunities for member collaboration. Your support channels will remain the same on January 1, 2023.

My last day with ElderCounsel will be December 31, 2022. I have been offered a position as CEO with another LEAP company, and I am actively exploring that opportunity.

It has been an honor to work for ElderCounsel the last fourteen years. While I will greatly miss the ElderCounsel team and its members, I look forward to seeing the merged companies continue to provide you with excellent service and world-class software to help you be productive in your day-to-day practice of law.

Kind regards,

-Val
